Lance's Garden, Beyond Gardening

Lance has been interested in gardening for quite some time and started this project in 1987 in Colorado, where he now lives. He grows 90% of his food supply while the other 10% (oil, salt, a few spices and of course some locally made pastries) are purchased. He has over 20 types of beans, 15 types of fruit trees and and an enormous amount of grains and greens to choose from form meal to meal. He will grow large amounts of storable crops that will last 2-3 years and during that time he will grow more even more varieties until he runs out of the previous year's harvest. His garden is over an acre in area and pesticide-free. In fact he encourages insects. He says that without them he wouldn't be able to maintain his crops as easily. He has combined new age garden and native permaculture. I would say he is quite an inspiration to all gardeners.
His hand made house insulated with straw that he sleeps in, that is located near the center of his garden
last few years of all his grains he harvested. that he will also use as seeds as he runs low on a certain crop
